In February of 2017, my grammar book "The Joy of Syntax & the Zen of Grammar Practice" came on the market. It was and is the book that I would have liked to have had when I started studying English at college in 1984 and when I started teaching grammar at the very same college in 2006.
I have changed a lot since the publication of my first book but I still adore the English language and am fascinated by its syntax.
Language creates realities and either it controls us or we learn to connect with it in healthy ways. This is a long story. I had already understood a lot about the power and the mysteries of language but my understanding and my sense of awe have deepened and broadened. And this is what my current journey is about. I want to travel through my book and see where I might wish to change or add stuff.
My current plan is that I will post videos about my journey and provide updates to my thinking on my YT-channel. I will explore questions that fellow travellers might have in response to my videos or while working through my book. I will also create additional study materials.
