Playing the harmonica in minor – made easy!
With the special tuning in the 3rd position
This workshop is about playing songs in minor with a special harmonica tuning that is particularly expressive, versatile and audibly better to play for everyone. And the nice thing about it is that it's easy as pie due to the special tuning (analogously to a regular tuned guitar compared to an open-tuned guitar)! The special tuning enables everyone to play chords in an expressive way, to be able to play all required notes of the pentatonic scale over 2 1/2 octaves by simply inhaling and exhaling, as well as to shine rhythmically and soloistically with octave playing. Chris Kramer has been using this tuning for 25 years and at every concert it's the little highlights that particularly impress the audience. Requirement: Having the necessary harmonica (it can be purchased from the course instructor), as well as being able to play individual tones confidently and cleanly. Blues - Harp Knowledge of bending and playing octaves would be a great benefit but is not essential. In advance, everyone has the opportunity to learn about these two basic techniques in the free online workshop "Blues Harmonica Basics" on Chris Kramer's YouTube channel and to prepare for the workshop. (Not a requirement/but a great opportunity!)
