Guide about how getting a Traffic Registration Number (TRN) in South Africa
Why is a TRN necessary
If you are a foreigner in South Africa and not yet registered on the eNaTIS (National Transport Information System) and you would like to purchase a vehicle and get it registered under your name, you must apply for a traffic register number first. The TRN is the first step in registering the purchase of the vehicle. Obtaining a TRN as a tourist on a visitor visa is possible, although it requires certain effort.
The Guide is based on my personal experience. I can't garantee success with the application.
