Welcome to the learning unit "Materials Testing Methods".

This is a learning unit from the second block of the steel seminar. The content covered is a prerequisite for understanding the subsequent learning units. Please check for yourself whether you have already achieved the learning objectives and move on to the next unit. Before you start this unit, you should also check whether you have already achieved the learning objectives from the learning units in the first block! The prerequisite for this unit is the learning objectives from the two learning units “Fundamentals of Materials Science” and “Fundamentals of Steels.”

Learning Objectives:

# You can explain the need for systematic and standardized material testing procedures.
# You can distinguish between destructive and non-destructive material testing and can classify the procedures and new procedures in the diagram.
# You explain the structure and sequence of measurements in non-destructive and destructive material testing procedures (e.g., tensile testing, hardness testing, OES, UT testing) and can classify the effort and benefits of individual procedures in terms of the usability of semi-finished products for various applications.
