Somewhere in Germany, at the end of the 19th century. After suffering a severe blow of fate, the famous violin virtuoso Beatus Klingohr severs all ties to his former life and ends up wandering the country roads as a vagrant. Restless, he wanders alone, wrestling with God and his fate. He no longer sees any meaning in life. A deep, painful wound gapes in his chest, tormenting him ceaselessly and driving him to despair.
One day, however, he hears about an extraordinary man around whom many mysterious stories are told. He is popularly known as the “Miracle Apostle,” a mystical figure even said to possess healing powers. A small flame of hope is kindled within Beatus.
